Life is Sweet - May 2020 Fundraiser
We launched our first fundraising drive on May 5, 2020, to coincide with the global #GivingTuesdayNow online campaign. We called our project the “Power of Five,” and our goal was to raise $5,000 so we could purchase tablets for the women in our seniors’ English class at Newcomer Women’s Services. We knew that many of the women were especially vulnerable during the pandemic because they didn’t have access to the technology to connect virtually with their classmates. Thanks to your generous support, we achieved 150% of that goal!
To celebrate the new tablets together, we decided to bake some of our favourite desserts and share the recipes! Most of the “Beautiful Ladies” found the recipes and instructions online using their brand new tablets! Take a look at their creations below:
